About 24 years back the Muslims of Sendai formed Islamic Cultural Centre, Sendai
(ICCS) to keep the Muslim identity &
Islamic activities alive. In Japanese language, the centre is called Isramu Bunka Senta
Sendai.
Islamic Cultural Center of Japan (ICCS) was established to promote the Islamic Culture, it
is non-political, non-racial,
non-profitable and voluntary organization. The ICCS was formally inaugurated on 20th
October 1985 at The Tohoku
University International House. The ceremony was attended by the majority of the Moslem
community in Sendai along with
their families.
The following objective of ICCS
- Promotion of friendship among Moslem and between Moslem and Japanese.
- Introducing Islam and cultural exchange to Japanese and other cultural
organizations.
- Intensifying the Islamic faith and knowledge of the Moslem.
- Solving different problems of Moslem,
- Teaching Koran and language
- Cooperation with Islamic Center of Japan as well as other Islamic organization.
